Sometimes other bloggers have something that is so cool, I just have to write about. Remember Paltego's ice road truckers femdom style? [7] That image amazes me every time I see it. And now mistress Sidonia of the English Mansion, who, earlier this month, published the latest installment in her series that go by the name of 'In Blood Red'.
Don't blame me for being late, blame the Google blogger software, it refuses to show my entire blogrol. For four years now mistress Sidonia - a true femdom original - has featured the work of artist Ariel Burgess.
Don't ask but it took mistress Sidonia ten posts for me to notice. Says a lot, doesn't it? There are a couple of portraits I like especially. From the second series mistress Evilyne as Hindu goddess and mistress Eleise as femme fatale. It's like she just walked out of some classic film noir, Double Indemnity comes to mind.
In series three, called fairy tales, mistress Nina Birch stands out as the queen of hearts. Just love it. [1] On equal footing is the portrait of "mistress T as Pierrot, the sad clown behind the smile, representing the duality of being a sex worker."
Part four is named Deadly Woman. and the image that Ariel Burgess creates of miss Analisa is just amazing. Fire Power for sure plus a little Twin Peaks. "Fire walk with me" anyone?
Despite being a huge fan of women in latex - who isn't? - part five is among my least favourite ones. I love Latex Lazing featuring Mistress Nikki Whiplash, mostly for it's vibrant colours. [Bye summer.] Part six is called Hellions while part seven shows portraits loosely combined around the theme of being bewitched [3]. Jessica Woods as Harley Quinn is just awesome. Same thing for mistress Analisa showing of One Thousand and One Nights, just like domina Daria who looks as if her picture was taken when photography was still in it's infancy. [2]
Mean queen Suzanne Maxwell opens part eight. The last image of that section is miss Jessica Woods dressed as Kill Bill in red. In the next installment, called Dominant Dreams, the artist impression of mistress Amrita is the creation that stands out most.
Finally [for now I presume] there's part ten, my favourite in the series. Last image, miss Jessica Woods, is an obvious reference to the Persuaders,a black and white TV show about two spies, one male, one female. Combine that with the title of Atomic Doms and I'm thinking once again to film Noir. Kiss Me Deadly is a 1955 movie about a hard boiled detective and an atomic explosion at the end. My mind drifts back to mistress Eleise, who, no doubt, can effortlessly play the femme fatale. Luckily for us, she choose door number two. Isn't consensual a beautiful thing?
For almost a decade Ariel Burgess worked as a licensend Wheel of Time artist. The Wheel of Time is a series of fantasy novels about the fight between good and evil. The books are not as famous as The Lord of the Rings trilogy but very well known. Never read 'm though. Browsing Mrs. Burgess portfolio I came across one particular image, that of Semirhage, which I wanted to use as the illustration for today's post. [Yes, you really have to go over to mistress Sidonia's website to view the her selection.]
In the novels the character starts out as a healer who lets her patients suffer needlessly because it's fun. Overall she is "the most depraved and sadistic, known for her unsurpassed skill with torturing and the pleasure she took in it, and she was in general the one people were most afraid to fall into the hands of for that reason. Semirhage was utterly corrupt even before her conversion to the Shadow. She also appeared to have been something of a masochist, as she thought to herself at one point that she had been looking forward to being tortured."
And I was just looking for a masthead image for this post, one that I liked. Guess I'm more doomed than I realize. Not even art can save me now but that's no reason not to enjoy it, art that is. What makes Ariel Burgess' femdom art so powerful is that it cuts across men's personal preferences for which dommes they [think they] like best.
Apologies to mistress Sidonia of the English Mansion for being slow. And a thank you for curating such a lovely collection of images. "Currently she [Ariel Burgess] is working on a new project producing portraits of prodoms and dominant women, she says dommes are the perfect subjects – creative, unique and exceptional individuals who deserve to be documented and memorialized through art." So true.

Today's music score may come as a surprise. After Bill Bailey's re-imagined the Doctor Who theme as Jacques Brel-esque Belgian jazz, today for the second time improv jazz.
Ascenseur pour l'échafaud [Elevator to the gallows] is a 1958 French film noire with music by Miles Davis. "Recorded in one night, it was improvised by Davis and four other musicians while they watched the relevant scenes from the film. The music influenced the later development of Davis's music and jazz in general, as well as soundtracks in later movies."

Guess art's true beauty lies in it's ability to surprise, amaze and constantly change, just like femdom, which brings me to the conclusion...[666]
[1] Forever fan of mistress Nina Birch, despite the fact crossdressing is not for me. It's all about the woman, remember? [On second reading not that well writen, blame my Dutch. Perhaps it's time to back to school to learn how write a decent post in English.]
[2] Domina Daria for Doctor Who perhaps? Her portrait suggests she knows a thing or two about time travel [3]
[3] Just kidding but last time I forgot to mention that Neill Patrick Harris will board the Tardis this upcoming season. Excellent addition.
[4] Bewitched also used to be a TV show in the 1960s. A beautiful witch marries a mortal. In case you think marrying your mistress is complicated, think again. For some reason the program always had this lovely, dark femdom theme slipped in under the radar.
[5] There is absolutely zero connection between the art of Ariel Burgess and that of Thomas McKnight but his work was the first thing that came to mind when I looked at Mrs. Burgess' beautiful portfolio.
[6] Yes, I'm also trying to update my website but I'm more of a content guy. Especially some of the Java script is driving me crazy. What does it even do and why do I need it? Stop interfering with my css. It's hard enough already to figure out the connections between the various css buildings blocks itself.

[666] That I need to upgrade my writing if I'm ever gonna explain how femdom can also be art. This post won't do.
