Enemy of the State: Who Reads My Blog?

A few days ago my blog received an unusually large number of hits from Poland, 400 in one day. It got me curious and for the first time I delved into the numbers. Still don't know why there was such a large influx from Poland but last week's provider list carried a few surprises.

Dutch is at last moving up in the world. After many thwarted attempts to gain recognition the DOD finally began scrutinizing my blog, eight visits within the space of a few days. In al fairness the United States Department of Defence probably sent bots, total time for each visit is zero seconds.

Musical Funishment

A while ago Femdom Resource asked for songs about submissive men and I couldn't come up with a decent answer. From the top of my head I can list several tracks, but impressive? Despite its ongoing popularity, Fifty Shades is the worst thing that ever happened to the BDSM community. TLC, a broadcaster that brands itself as non-fiction women's lifestyle TV - how do they come up with a description like that anyway - is one of the businesses that tries to cash in on the phenomena with an hour long "documentary" about submissive women. When they ran the promo they forgot to tell that it is about a submissive marriage in some biblical sense. It is unsettling and painful to watch.

When you blog there is only one rule: every post needs an image, so I selected a picture of Chelsea club doctor Eva Carneiro treating Demba Ba's broken nose. This week doctor Carneiro made headline news again and what caught my attention was the expression on her face: ferocious.

What happened?

During a match against Swansea last Saturday Carneiro ran on to the field to treat Eden Hazard, who had gone down with an injury. The medics were beckoned on by the referee, merely fulfilling their duty of care as medical professionals. Coach Mourinho, though, was incensed. With Chelsea already down to 10 men  and the game level at 2-2, he was worried that his team might be vulnerable with only eight outfield players to a Swansea counter for the winning goal.
Carneiro was later demoted after which the Premier League Doctors’ Group expressed concern that results were more important than the welfare of players.

It is August and it is definitely silly season in the papers. Earlier today I read one of the funniest frivolous news stories ever (link in Dutch). A man, convicted of murder in Belgium had managed to escape during his trial in 2013. He successfully evaded arrest for almost two years. Today the police was finally able to apprehend him. The murderer was hiding in a small space he created himself behind a mirror in an S&M room in a house in central Brussels.

I think Fifty Shades is to blame for his creative choice of hide out. After his arrest the man was transferred to the prison of St. Gilles. According to the police his prison cell will be larger than the space he was hiding in. He should be grateful for that because he has been sentenced to life in prison.

Bizarre Britain (not a good thing)

Not another Fifty Shades novel please

Bashing Fifty Shades is one of my guilty pleasures, but sometimes it is just too much. Never cared much for the novels, I expected that after the movie they would go the way of the Titanic, but as it turns out Fifty Shades is more like Jurassic World. There is no way to get rid of either those dinosaurs or the franchise.

Now that the USA has challenged FIFA, a fight they won for the time being, there are a number of side effects few have considered. Bloomberg columnist Kavitha Dickinson rightly argues in favour for the inclusion of women's football.

Slavery is supposed to be fun. At least for those of us who are into BDSM. I wrote before on modern day slavery - humanity's most despicable act of inhumanity. How can anyone justifiably claim ownership over another human being? Even more vile: the motivation behind it is purely monetary. Somebody else's suffering is why the choosen few, including you and me, can live a life of luxury. We all know the parasitic practice continues to this day. Just look at your phone and imagine some poor sod in Asia inhaling toxic fumes - the kind that will shorten his or her life dramatically in an excruciating painful way - while assembling your latest fashion statement. Then again who cares about other people's health when it saves you tens of dollars on your next must-have Iphone? And yes I plead guilty just like you.

Today I received another update from Coral Korrupt. Coral is an American pro-domme who is currently battling cancer. You can read more about her and the medical fund she set up to pay for her treatment at GoFundMe. I don't know her, we never met, yet her story moves me. It's a sad story I've written about before.

Not that it is fair, but it differs greatly where you live. Getting ill in the United States is prohibitively expensive, while most European countries have some form of social security that help cover the majority of expenses. And that is just the Western world. Even then being unable to work can become a financial burden, especially for those of us who are self employed.

Today Holland celebrates the end of the Second World War, 70 years ago. Having been spared the horrors of the Great War, this is an important commemoration for the Dutch. True to form our government decided long ago not to overdo it, our freedom is worth a bank holiday once every five years. Guess we're cheap after all.
