The other day I read an article about a woman, newly available and looking for love. In her forties, which is good, she rattled of the usual list. Tall, educated [whatever that means], stable, mature, good job and - hold your horses - a full head of hair. Women and sexism, whenever the two of them meet, its love child is ugly, no exceptions.

General von Moltke famously said how no plan survives first contact with the enemy. Especially not sloppy planning. Just ask Putin. In 1871, when the German commander, wrote his essay on military strategy, blogging didn't exist. But to a certain extent you can also apply it to writing posts. Dutch started the year, high on a happy vibe, proclaiming this would be the year of 'let's get dangerous', but it has been an extraordinary busy first month of 2023 and vanilla life got in the way.

What can be more innocent than a girl walking her cute canine? Welcome to 'My Life as Inukai-san's Dog.' The story goes something like this: high school boy turns into a dog. Don't ask, some things just happen. Luckily, Inukia-san, she is his highschool crush, takes him in. Owner and owned live happily ever after. Why wouldn't he? As they come home, Inukai takes her pet with her into bath. This is where you're supposed to shout: objection, your honour. Or not.

A slave's life is not always a happy one. It's shouldn't be about being unhappy, that much I know for sure. One day you wake up and realize 'this is it.' Something you need to digest and accept. Some take forever to do so. Me, I just shrugged my shoulders. Oh, that's what they call it.
The illusion of happiness through instant gratification is perhaps best illustrated by food. Eat whatever you want - and as much as you want - may sound like fun while you're at it, but it won't improve your life. Rather the opposite. Imagine your biggest passion in life is tennis. The more you eat, the more your game starts to slide. But if the game gives you infinitely more pleasure than food, time to cut back.

Welcome to year 11 of this blog. Who would've guessed, certainly not Google. Or me. While I break my head what to do in 2024 for its first anniversary, let's have a little pre-party. In case you're wondering whether or not I'm actually going to break my head, it's something we say in Dutch when we think long and hard about solving a particular problem.
