Canadian Couple Fined For Wife Walking Dog-Husband

Covid-19 Strikes Again!

I get it, Covid-19 is cruel and indifferent. But why fine her innocent hubby-dog?

My blogging frequency puts me at a disadvantage, bringing you the lastest. When I read today's story, I decided to ignore it. No more. Earlier today the Dutch government decided to impose a curfew on it's citizens. Of course there are exceptions, among the more noticable ones are walking your dog (alone). So is going to a TV studio for a live appearance on late night TV. Why? Elections are coming up in about two months. Isn't democracy wonderful?

That same cold voice of the people in chilly Canada imposed a curfew on residents of the mainly French speaking province of Quebec a little earlier. Of course the usual exceptions, including walking your dog (alone), applied. One can wonder, exactly what a dog is. Fact is, if you are human by day, you cannot moonlight - not even doggy style - by night.

Somehow fear is universal. During the initial stages of Covid-19 people - no doubt some of them still in prison, not the safest place right now - were fighting over toilet paper in supermarket. Fast forward and this afternoon the Dutch government announced the first curfew since the Second Worldwar, starting on Friday. As a result people are outbidding each other online for the locally famous orange jackets many delivery services wear.

Why worry? Fines in Holland are not that harsh. It's most likely because of what [not] happened after Minister of Justice Ferd Grapperhaus was caught redhanded, breaking the entire Covid-19 rulebook during his wedding. And no, Parliament did not fire him. Despite, or because of that, hardly anyone's heard from him or see him on television. Anyway after he was caught, Dutch government lowered the penalty for breaking corona restrictions to a much more convenient 95 euros. Why? Above 100 euros you get a mark on your permanent record.

Across the ocean, In Canada, breaking the rules is clearly much more expensive. Around nine in the evening a woman was walking her dog. Clearly the dog was a fake - and a bad one because Froufrou turned out to be her Hubbyhubby husband, imitating a dog. Happy hubby clearly put a lot of effort in it, even following his wife on all fours in subzero temperatures. To make it even more realistic, she put him on a leash.

People often complain about how expensive pro-dommes are. In case you didn't get it, not being able to work during a pandemic for months on end - and like all of us with bills to pay and mouths to feed - is one reason why. Anyway, walking your human dog past curfew just for the fun of it is more expensive than seeing a proffesional dominatrix. According to the local police the couple did not co-operate at all. In the end, both were fined They were each fined CA$1.500 (appr € 980; $1,200). I totally agree with fining the owner, but why not give her dog a break? Life as a dog is hard enough as it is.
