Rick and Morty Hate Femdom

"I thought the whole point of having a dog was to feel superior."
      - Lawnmower, Rick & Morty season one, episode two.

Plus looking down on a whole bunch of "other" people.

Don't look so shy Rick, in under two minutes you'll be naked, wearing nipple clamps.

Additional reporting by our #NeverNormal department.

Rick and Morty is a cartoon show that first aired in December 2013. The general formula consists of the juxtaposition of two conflicting scenarios: an extremely selfish, main character dragging their inferior along for interdimensional adventures, [1] intercut with domestic family drama [2]. What's not to relate?

Rickleclamps. Told you so.
When the program opens it freshman season with 11 episodes, Dutch pays attention. In the Spring of 2020 the cartoon show has finished it's fourth, bland, boring season and a major let-down.

From a business point of view it's unwise to introduce femdom during a pilot. Better wait for the next episode to make sure professional reviewers have heard about it. The second installment introduces Miss Pancake and her dreams to Rick 'n' Morty and the audience - Inception movie style.

In order to limit Google's evil indexing efforts, I'm not gonna add the above text to it's caption. It's a major nasty "fan site" I found the "additional information" about Miss Pancakes on. The rot goes much deeper than anyone realizes.

This post is about "look at the TV Mommy, it's the stuff you and daddy do in the [basement] bedugeon." A small part deals with mainstream media abusing other people's preferences for shows that are "twuly shwocking" in order to "refurbish" ratings. As always, being a white male comes with privileges I don't know exist. Despite that, even Dutch wonders why Domina Pancakes has to be black. And no, it doesn't matter if she's a mere cartoon character. Remember that episode of Elementary with Keesha Sharp playing the dominatrix? Can't be a coincidence. [3] Nasty stuff.

Rick and Morty are falling out of a plane and towards the ujnavoidable conclusion - this being their second adventure ever. In order to delay the inevitable they sneak into Miss Pancake's intimate dreams. Never a good thing. From one dream they tumble into the next until they meet Freddy Kruger. In a complicated move the scarecrow with knife blades for fingers travels back to the almost original dream, slashes dominatrix Pancakes while proclaiming "sex is sacred" and on to the next episode, which we'll skip.

According to Wikipedia: "it was not until the early 1970s that color television outsold black and white units." Don't believe everything you read or see, just turn on the news. Sorry [imaginary] Miss Pancakes, we live in a dark, b/w slash 'n' burn world.

Fast forward to season two, episode seven and Mum and Dad's marriage is in trouble. With the couple in therapy Jerry Smith - Rick's son in law - sees his wife Beth as a monster. This being Rick and Morty, dreams come true once again. Born looser Jerry saves the day by re imagining his better half as a goddess.

"This representation displeases me." Yes, spot on. It's what makes Rick [and Morty] so relevant to "our" community.

Your lightskinned [imaginary] goddess is displeased. Get her, my obedient, Caucasian six pack Jerry. Or how cartoon shows depend on visual clues make the world a darker place.

The current season [four] is a major let-down. Season three on the other hand, which aired back in 2017, went nuts spreading their message of hate when it comes to other people's happiness.

After a detox far away Rick and Morty become better people - and yes it very much relates to "our" eternal struggle between Vanilla and the Dark. Of course  their two halves are inseparable and Rick wants to right the situation. Gone vanilla-style soft on his grandson, Toxic Rick tells him to be dominant. Obedient Vanilla Rick complies and pulls Morty in the chamber while the boy's love interest wonders whether it's OK to find non-consensual - consensual cartoon crap hot. Boy tries to escape, but Stacey wants to hear their safe word first. "Sea cucumber", after which the teenage girl opens the chamber and switches places with the four halves of the duo. Wondering whether the toxic hell she is locked in resembles a sex dungeon, by now she must regret "anything for you" [dear Morty.]

"Sea cucumber?" At least today's kids are smart enough to have a safeword.

In the end everything works out fine. Back in high school, Morty tries to adjust. Not for long, grandpa Rick opens a portal and grabs their inferior for another non-consensual adventure. Meanwhile Stacey's friends discuss important issues in the background.

"Have you ever been peed on before? Oh, my God. Yum."
 - Girl 1

Actually it's extremely humiliating and there is no point unless it makes mistress smile.

In the penultimate episode of season three we learn about the ABC of daughter Beth. She accuses Rick of being a bad father. Guilty as charged. Not that being the world's greatest dad can make a whip that forces people to like you, only he can. Don't ask why. Something that can only exists in a cartoon show [and perhaps the dreams of not so strong women, pretending to be dominant.] As for the invisibility cuffs he invented for his little girl, what's the point? Normal people perhaps, but if you're a natural alpha female who deserves it all? Why would you want indivisibility cuffs or a whip that forces people to like you?

A whip that forces people to like you? Come on, those things hurt like hell. Life's about love not likes.

In the next episode “Some kind of alien goo-gah has infested the Kennedy Sex Tunnels. Forget you ever saw them, along with the Truman Cocaine Lounge, McKinley Hooker Dump, and the Lincoln Slave Coliseum. “Lincoln didn’t free them all”, Potus 44 tells Rick and Morty. Of course not. Have you watched the news today? Officially the colour of your skin is no longer relevant. Meanwhile in the real world the colour of your skin literately makes the difference between life and death.

Invisibility cuffs? Why? To hide the truth that some are more "equal" than others?

Don't worry, there's plenty more that Dark Side devotees like you and me can learn from a simple cartoon show such a Rick and Morty. As always to be continued, just like... You know what I mean.

Being trendy 'n' stuff, this post was written while listening to Marvin Gaye's What's Going On (Morphable rework).

And because it's sunny outside, I'll throw in a bonus track for free. How about the Eurythmics classic Sweet Dreams (Ibiza Deep Summer Remix 2015)?

Not it's best remake, then again that's not the reason you get two for the price of one. Guess being a cynic is a joy for never.

PS
And of course smart Snuggles [S01E02] is a direct reference to the Empire of One Thousand Suns. Sadly with a very non-femdommy twist.

Notes

[1] In "our" language it's called the Dark Side

[2] Same as above, only this time we refer to it as vanilla.

[3] Any man who takes his kink seriously only surrenders to a strong woman. It's the inside that counts. End of discussion.

[4] Re: 3 - Sadly a lesson also lost on today's OWK. More on that later.
