How To Make The Most Of Your Prodomme Past

Two life lessons from today's paper. The first one I wrote about before many times. Freaks sell. The second one is that most "stars" are made not born. Take the example of Julia Fox.

He misses her. Ex-wife Kim Kardashian on her way to the 2021 Met gala.

The Guardian asks itself a question. No, not how to write proper click bait, they're good at that. "From dominatrix to debutante: who is Kanye West’s new girlfriend Julia Fox?" Other than mentioning Fox used to be a teenage dominatrix, nothing on the domme stuff, so I delved into it. The most reliable source, obviously, is the Hollywood Reporter, an entertainment industry trade magazine slash gossip glossy. Just like The Guardian, The Hollywood Reporter knows a thing or two about click bait headlines.

"Uncut Gems’ Breakout Julia Fox Worked as a High School Dominatrix"

The article is from Christmas Eve 2019, when the actress is 29 years old. "Julia Fox worked as a dominatrix in high school in New York, has staged an art show with paintings using her own blood, and directed a short film about sex trafficking in Nevada. Fox, 29, has now made her acting debut in Josh and Benny Safdie’s Uncut Gems, playing a feisty jewelry saleswoman who’s sleeping with her gambling addict boss (Adam Sandler)." Now that's a well-written introduction, pay attention dear Guardian.

The first thing you notice is dominatrix in high school. How does that work? She heard it from another girl who was doing it and that there was no sex or nudity, just role-playing. Really?  "I can do that. I can act. I can put on an outfit,’ you know? I did it, and it was great. I really credit it when people ask me, ‘Oh, have you ever acted before?”

"The money was so good, she says — “Suddenly I could get my own apartment, pay all my own bills” — that it made up for the clientele. “They were all weird but nice,” she explains. “Like, submissive men who all had issues. Toward the end, I was like, ‘Dude, just go get therapy and stop coming here.’ “"

Like I said, most 'stars' are made because men don't pay for role play, they pay for sex. And yes your definition may differ from mine but as long as your girlfriend or wife thinks it's about sex, it is. That's why men usually don't tell their wives they visit dominatrices. Today the press doesn't seem to care. Also, dominatrix or not, paying for sex with a minor is a major offense.

Isn't she a total sweetheart? Anyway the dominatrix gig lasted for about six months after which she moved in with a boyfriend for the next six years. She launched a clothing line which she apparently outgrew and started dabbling in the bloody arts, literally. She painted with her own blood. Looking back, it must have been destiny rather than fate that she hooked up with Kanye West. As they say on Netflix, it's a 99 percent fit. Where West is known for his sly business acumen, Fox clearly is not. Even Jeff Bezos did not outgrow the business he founded after he made his first 100 billion.

And the winner is? Of what? Woman with the most leather pants in the world? That's how I know her.

Unusual woman, unusual story and that's not a compliment. "Although many were initially confused at the “left field” pairing of Ye and the relatively unknown Fox, it seems the two have more in common than first thought: a penchant for dressing up in ridiculous clothes, the narcissistic mindset necessary to become famous in the first place, and no qualms about partying with convicted abusers. They also seem to share an interest in life as performance art, presenting their own daily undertakings as entertainment and blurring the line between reality and reality TV."

Fox reminds me of two other women. The first is Elizabeth Holmes, who is now on trial for corporate fraud. She founded Theranos, a company that promised blood tests from a small drop of blood using handheld devices, it was all fake. The reason she could go on for so long is that she had wrapped a number of older highly influential men around her finger. Fox seems to have a similar effect on many men.

"Fox told Office magazine that “people don’t take you seriously if you’re a creative and also a sex worker” and believes that until now she has missed out on opportunities and endorsements."

The other person she reminds me of is Kasia Urbaniak, the ex-domme teaching classes on cornering Harvey Weinstein - or just any man who falls for it - using her fabulous prodomme skills. Just a little light on ethics. You cannot complain of not being taken serious as a sex worker, I mean non-nude, probably underage, non-sex, fetish fantasy actress for all of six months while disrespecting your clients, saying they're better of with a shrink. Whether you like prodommes or not it's a serious job and definitely not for everyone.

Very curious how the Julia Fox story will develop. After her breakout role (it's what the experts say) in the 2019 movie Hidden Gems (which Fox is not, if only because of her excessive, exhaustive, non-stop self promotion), she played a cam girl in PVT chat. Clearly she was exhausted from her previous movie because on screen she comes across as dull. Where's that sparkle when you need it most? Fox also wrote and directed Fantasy Girls, a short film about a group of teenage girls involved in sex work living in Reno, Nevada. Then she met Kanye or as the budding actress sees it: “You’re either born a muse, or you’re not,” “I’ve always been someone’s muse.” Yep even mine, look at what I just wrote. I've had better. Kanye probably too.

I'm open to comments [and muses] on my click bait skills.

Probably featured this one before but who cares? Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart. Sorry Kanye. (click to listen on Youtube)
