Don't care much about the Olympics. Biathlon, a combination of skiing and target shooting, is my favourite. Try and slow down your heartbeat in an instant after racing downhill at breakneck speed in order to hit a target. Eileen Gu is a freestyle Olympic skier who competes for China. Mostly raised by her Chinese mother and grandmother, she has an American father. A recent background article in the New York Times explores some of the effects of Mrs. Gu competing for China, not the United States. Of course she is both Chinese and American. Conservative pundits in the US call her a traitor and accuse her of being ungrateful. But why should she be forced to choose? Identity is not a binary option. It's like forcing kids to choose which parent they'll never see again. The way Mrs. Gu looks at it, is “when I’m in the U.S., I’m American, but when I’m in China, I’m Chinese.”
Earlier today I went grocery shopping. At the store entrance I notice a man holding an infant in a baby carier in one hand, the other one rests on the shoulder of the woman in front of him. She pushes a pram. Takes me a while to figure out but when I see his walking stick, I realize he is blind. When their kids are a little older, will they think of him as Dad or that blind guy? Children see the world in an inclusive way that's beautiful. Sadly it's also a quality we seem to shed on our way to adulthood. [1]
What I like about the article is how Mrs. Gu handles - she's probably forced to - her dual nationality. The thing that impresses me most is her age. Eileen Gu is born in 2003, which makes her 18 years of age. That is an impressive amount of wisdom for someone who's just become of legal age. Looking back in the mirror, I see myself at a similar age. The highlights are some studying, having a part-time job and girls, girls, girls! Plus a hint of of booze of course. All very respectable, just drops, just tiny drops, don't you worry. Dutch has always been the responsible one. But dealing with outside pressure on such a large scale or the world judging me for their own benefit? Never.

A while back I wrote about why I'm generally speaking best suited to serve more mature women. In case you don't remember Dutch was born around the time the first man walked on the moon. [11] [14]. Before explaining the femdom age gap, I wrote about personal gravity. It's the essence of a woman, or better, personal gravity is anyone's essence. It's the spell you fall under. Most of the time personal gravity works best if there's a limited age difference. But age is only part of making the magic work.
It's not just Eileen Gu who oozes personal gravity, even at her young age. Mrs. Gu handles the furore surrounding her dual nationality with such elegance, it almost makes you forget the toll it must take on her as an Olympian. On top of it all she has to compete with other Olympians for the gold medal in freestyle skiing.
Finally this post turns towards femdom. Eileen Gu makes me think of younger dommes, women with less decades under their belt than myself. Several. They are no less amazing than more mature dommes. It takes a lot of personal strength to announe to the world - or Fetlife slash the men you are dating - you're young but also dominant for real. Too often femdom feels like the priviliged plaything of older, rich guys, bossing women around, telling them to dominate them for an hour or two. [13] That doesn't make sense. It must be hard for women who are genuinely interested in a broader definition of femdom to make themselves heard. Of course when you are young and pretty, guys take notice. But often not for the reasons you want them to. Despite all of that there are many younger, dominant women who stand out. Now that's personal gravity to me - and it's beautiful. Beautiful story with the usual sad, male-centric, ending. Be honest, women may be the better sex but we men are the lucky ones. I truly believe Gaia is a girl who has a crush on her boys. And it's a big one. Life is so unfair.
Before I go: Mrs. Gu has been admitted to Stanford University and will begin studies after the 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Brains are all about how wonderful girls truly are. When it comes to women, men simply cannot loose. Sorry.

[2] I have several friends with dual nationality. Even decades later, when you catch them at a bad moment, it tears them apart. Somehow the world is unable to accept anything that crosses binary boundaries.
[3] Something else happened at the Olympics too. By now you know how I feel about adults not taking proper care of their kids. Remember queen Patricia of the OWK? Yes, that femdom cartoon character who spent many hot summer nights dreaming of depriving her daughter of her own free will by trying to impose her 'kingdom' - one filled with naked men in chains - on her vanilla [?] girl. Apparently it didn't even cross qP's mind that her daughter might like hot, naked women in chains. Or be one one of them. Or not. Or, or, or. That's what happens when you decide to pimp your own offspring. Sad story.
Another sad story is Russian in origin and it deals not with skiing but ice skating. Last year 15-year old skater Kamila Valieva tested positive for anti doping. Sort of because she was allowed to compete in this year's Winter Olympics. Everybody expected her to finish first. In case she won, the medal ceremony would be postponed, hanging the final judgement of the Sports Court of Arbitration. Kamila Valieva didn't end in the top three, something that surprises me as an outsider. Post fact everybody has an opinion. The under age athlete is not to blame, it's her coach etc.
Let me ask you this: if Kamila Valieva had dual nationality, let's say Russian and American and competed for the American team in exactly the same circumstances, would the outcome be any different? If yes, why? To me it's Eileen Gu's dilemma in a [different] nutshell.
[11] And without Katherine G. Johnson, Neil Armstrong would probably be still walking around in circles over there. Just watch Hidden Figures, the story of a team of female African-American mathematicians who served a vital role in NASA during the early years of the U.S. space program. Of course it's 90 percent nonsense but it holds some valuable lessons, right OWK? And no, not about smart women, that's the obvious part. Or bathroom breaks.
[12] Have I ever told you about how beautiful smart women are? Let's be honest, we men are truly the lucky ones.
[13] Hey, if ordering women to dominate Dutch works for me, it'll certainly work for you!
