Yes OWK, rainbows are all about happiness. Learn from the best.
Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu of South Africa passes away on Boxing Day.
Colourful! |
Driving home from Christmas, I'm thinking of Dad. He's getting real old and his health is failing. He has not much time left. Next year we probably celebrate Christmas without him. Makes me sad. I've learned so much from him. How love is about what you do, not what you say the importance of keeping your promises and standing up for what you think is right, just to name a few.
Before I left Sunday afternoon, I read how Desmond Tutu passed away on Boxing Day. "Desmond Tutu, Whose Voice Helped Slay Apartheid, Dies at 90. The archbishop, a powerful force for nonviolence in South Africa’s anti-apartheid movement, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1984." [7]
For The Guardian, Jason Burke writes how "Tutu always kept his distance from the African National Congress (ANC), the party that spearheaded the liberation movement and has now been in power in South Africa for more than 20 years. He refused to back its armed struggle and support unconditionally leaders such as Nelson Mandela." Arche also "spoke out against homophobic legislation in Uganda and argued in favour of assisted dying." [3]
US President Reagan once defended apartheid by saying that because the black population were of various ethnicity, white people were in the majority and therefore apartheid was OK. [1] Makes no sense at all. Nor does Christmas I told myself, remembering how some 500 years ago the Church explicitly reinstated slavery in the West by allowing the Portuguese and Spanish to reduce the enemies of Christ to perpetual slavery - even after conversion to Christianity. The Church’s view on the Slave Trade was that slaves were not morally equal. It probably didn't come as a surprise to the Christian theologians who crafted these immoral arguments, that they went straight to hell after death.
Back in the car, thinking of Dad, I suddenly realize I haven't finished my series on the OWK. There are still a couple of things we need to discuss. I rather spend time with Dad instead. Haven't written much at all this last year. Just like Desmond Tutu, the Spy Princess practiced non-violent resistance. Code Name Madeleine, a book about Noor Inayat Khan has been lingering for some time on my reading list now. Note how Noor's name is stripped from the title. Probably because the author thinks a non-Western name will dent sales. It made me wonder if someone as wonderful as Her Royal Highness Noor Inayat Khan would receive a warm welcome in today's OWK, so I looked up their website.
Probably not. No matter what the OWK once represented, these days it's nothing but a brand for an adult video company specializing in femdom with most of the dommes caught on camera being white - and often blonde. I wouldn't be surprised if a number of videos were shot in some lush British garden, after all a tree is a tree and they're all green. The same cannot be said for the OWK's selection of dommes. It kinda feels like the only colour they know over there is white. Being blonde is not exactly a requirement but clearly held in high regard. As for age, the younger [2] the better it seems, as long as the ladies are of legal age of course.
According to their website, queen Patricia lives at the castle, probably with Papa Smurf as her slave. Let me tell you something, Papa Smurf is real, queen Patricia isn't. The castle is closed to the public because her cartoonish highness doesn't wish to be disturbed. [5] Pretty hard to do if she doesn't live there. If OWKReal still has access to the castle, they probably rent it once or twice a year for a couple of days, put their regalia on the wall and start pretending to serve women for as long as the camera rolls.
The Most Reverend Desmond Tutu, Archbishop Emeritus "was credited with coining the term “rainbow nation” for the non-racial South Africa that he, Mandela and their various supporters wanted to rise from the ashes of apartheid." Why not give it a try, dear OWK?
Fat chance, I'll spot my first unicorn long before the OWK's remnants will magically turn into a rainbow micro nation. So whatever you do, don't fall for their fund raising for a new complex. Just read the small print that says if no suitable castle can be found, the OWK's owners are free to do with the money what they want. Anyway, why does the OWK need to relocate if they own the original? [4] Something you forgot to tell us, uhm, guys?
As for Christmas, same time next year? I'll end with a comment from The Guardian, mourning the death of Desmond Tutu:
"A few of us can speak the truth. Even fewer can speak the truth with love. The rarest gems of all speak the truth with love and an infectious laugh that breaks all barriers. May his joy bring hope for evermore. Rest in Peace dear Arch."

[1] Retelling it in my own words, not 100 percent spot-on because I don't understand what Reagan was saying. Apparently it was some kind of strategic geo-political argument. Apologies.
[2] We all know that the only riel dommes are young dommes. Old dommes are just... Real women perhaps?
[3] Desmond Tutu also spoke out against ignoring climate change.
[4] If you need money, why not open up the castle full time?
[5] Brilliant idea for a Christmas movie. Home Alone 11, filmed live at the OWK. It's gonna be bloody [and] great. [6]
[6] You see OWK, there's money everywhere, just open your eyes.
[7] From The New York Times obituary.
[666] Apartheid is a word derived from Dutch, sorry for that.

Although one might think that there is no particular femdom angle to the good Archbishop, in fact a few years ago, when reviewing the Google searches that had led people to my blog, I was delighted to see the following consecutive pair:
"tutu sissy ballet humiliation"
"tutu sissy ballet humiliation - desmond"
I hope he found what he was looking for.
Best wishes to your Dad.

We all need a naughty side, it's a good release. Thanks for sharing.
