Sexy Voice Fetishes, Are They Real?

Lure of the modern-day Sirens

Miley Cyrus is singing on the radio. These days she has a low, husky voice that sounds very sexy. It makes me wonder, is there such a thing as a voice fetish?

Remember how I argued Grace Jones [2] is the original femdom icon? Back in the 1980s, on one of her appearances on the Joan Rivers talkshow, she lets it slip that she has many clones. No doubt, a generation later, they've multiplied. Miley Cyrus is not one of them and I mean that as a compliment to both of them.

Miley's latest song Midnight Sky is on heavy rotation on my local radio station. The track is OK, but nothing special. What grabs my attention is Miley Cyrus' voice, over and over again.

Miley Cyrus started out as a child actor on Disney television. The days of Hanna Montana are long gone. Back in 2013 Wrecking Ball was one of my favourite tunes of that year. Guess what, the song was written with Beyoncé in mind. Her loss. Generally well-received, the track is a classic coming-of-age tale.

Fast forward seven years and listen to how Mrs. Cyrus voice has changed. On Midnight Sky her sound has acquired a much deeper timbre. It's also grown more husky. The rawness of Miley's voice was always there, but it has matured superbly. Meanwhile Miley Cyrus has also found her voice when it comes to the kind of song she prefers. The singer seems to gravitate towards classic rock. For now it's nothing but a side-hustle. Her renditions of both Heart of Glass and Zombie have earned her critical praise from its original singers, Debbie Harry [Blondie] and the Cranberries.

Once again Midnight Sky is on the radio again and I cannot help thinking just how sexy her voice is. Just to be sure, we're talking simple sexy here, as in a sexy idea, not naked people sexy. Still, it makes me wonder is there such a thing as a fetish for voices?

That should be the end of it, but there's more. Reading up on Miley Cyrus, one thing stands out. Miley goes her own way. That is, if you ignore the latest remix of Midnight Sky featuring Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, a 1960's hippie music band. [4] The end result is horrible. Don't believe me? Fast forward to around 1:00 and you get this tiny electric shock once you hear beat derail first, immediately followed by key. What comes next is worse.

No worries, nobody should care too much about releasing a single, ill-judged remix. Go your own way, wherever it may take you. Do that and you can be awesome too. Of course men can make their own choices too. Just remember, when it comes to naked people, Dutch is exclusively interested in girls. Not even the least bit curious. Besides, the focus of this blog and a major part of my journey through life is to discover amazing women, and if we both feel the same way, perhaps spend time together. As for you guys, happy travels.

You shouldn't be surprised to see Miley Cyrus finally discovering her own voice outside the limited set of parameters others choose for her. After all, her godmother is Dolly Parton, one of the most under-appreciated artists of our time. [5]

[1] Some super spies have all the luck. Remember that scene in the 1985 James Bond movie "A view to a kill?" Grace's' character Mayday undresses and steps into bed. As Bond leans in to kiss her, she turns the tables - and him literally upside down. What's not to love? Even for a guy who's not into wrestling.

[2] The 00 franchise has a new 7. Wrote about it before. She, yes, she is a she. Now add Grace Jones (born 1948) to the mix for just one more movie and the franchise will live forever.

[3] More on Debbie Harry and the film Moviedrome later.

[4] Go Your Own Way was a big hit for Fleetwood Mac featuring Stevie Nicks a long time ago.

[5] To be a godparent is one of life's greatest honours. Just between you and me, Miss Parton, tell her to hurry. Grace Jones is only two years your junior. Tell that sweet goddaughter of yours to give Grace a call and make some music.
