In the end, the OWK attracted only a few. Affluent men and women who share queen Patricia I harsh and often misandric vision of femdom. Dreaming big on the Dark Side won't keep the light on in Vanillastan once bills start piling up and the castle collapsing.

You and I, dear reader, are truly special. The two of us belong to an elite group that understands women are born to be worshiped. Sadly we are nothing but a drop in an indifferent ocean.

Some years ago I did a
rough estimate
of the number of people into BDSM by using the percentage of people that use
Facebook and multiply that by how many subscribers Fetlife had at the time.
It's tiny, closer to one percent of one percent (0.01%) than to one percent
(1%). That was in 2013, back when Fetlife had
zero entrance barriers
and didn't try to steal your phone number.
Rounded up to an overly generous one percent with, say, one half maledom, one half femdom, means a quarter (0.25%) of participants are submissive men. How many of those are wealthy enough to afford a stay in the OWK?
Visiting slaves are either not married or can visit the OWK without their wives getting suspicious of hubby's absence [1] and the corresponding drain on the family finances. Having your accountant help setting up a mere handful of girlfriends in apartments of their own [7] happens all the time. Bad if your wife finds out, but you'll manage. "Men will be men." Asking your accountant to hide money from your wife so you can visit the OWK [2] to lead the good life, barking like a dog on all fours? No-one's ever gotten rich by letting their accountant into that kind of juicy secrets.
"To protect femdom values"
Now revise your previous estimate to reflect the number of slaves who go on a
pilgrimage to the OWK because they agree with the founding vision of queen
Patricia. No prizes for guessing the number of repeat customers either.
The OWK is the female version of the ancient city of Sparta - and expensive to visit. It caters to a fraction of submissive males, men that are both well-off and looking for a concentration camp experience.

Ironically, harshness was built into the fabric of the Other World. "To protect femdom values" [6] is why queen Patricia founded the OWK. Since when does harshness equal femdom values? What are those universal femdom values anyway? If harsher treatment for males equals better femdom, then why were the rooms for sublime ladies and visiting dommes sub-standard, the kind you find on a campus dorm? It's because the founders ran out of money long before they ran out of grandiose ideas. [5]
Let's leave the definition of femdom values for another time. All I can say is that they are not limited to the extreme ideology - also born out of a lack of money - of some faceless woman who once lived in the Winter Castle of Lalaland, trying to force her horrified vanilla daughter into taking over the family business. QP I clearly never got the memo about consent from HR. [3] [4]
In the end the biggest reason for the OWK to fail was its extremely narrow scope on femdom. Is queen Patricia the one to blame? Who knows. Commercially it also picked the wrong niche. The two of them combined scared away most potential visitors. Don't believe me, just think about the number of repeat customers. No doubt it was a magical place, but if it was so awesome, why didn't those with money and means visit it more often? In the end it takes only a single visit to earn yourself bragging rights for life.

The name Other World Kingdom remains problematic. Replacing it with Queendom
[Queendomme?] is just plain silly. If you wanna go that direction, how about
Queensrÿche? And yes that is a variation on the original German phrase, as
used by the American heavy metal band of the same name. The members changed it
from it's original German name to prevent associations with Nazism.
Still too complicated. Why not go for the simple World of Goddess? In life and management, it's all about essence. Not that it's ever gonna happen, but even today I believe World of Goddess is the only choice. What else is the point?

[7] Yes OWK, any decent accountant could have told you, location is all that matters. Even if you are cheating on the one you say you love. Location is as much about plausible deniability as it is about anything else.
