American Dad Clip Promotes Femdom
In the old days the villains on TV used to smoke. That is not done anymore, so often villains are portrayed as kinky freaks. Commercials are in on it too, everybody has seen the vodka dominatrix add. So it came as some surprise when I found out American Dad sneakily promotes femdom. The weird thing is, it is more "realistic" than most I've seen TV. Just look at this short clip. Don't know what episode it is from. How about that?

Sub Rosa: What's Hidden Brings a Man to His Knees
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose By any other name would smell as sweet.”
Shakespeare was pretty brilliant. Even though he drew upon previous sources when he wrote Romeo & Juliet, the story still stands today. Unfortunately for the author, shortly after meeting Doctor Who, he passed away before he could write about the doctor’s extra-terrestrial origins in The Shakespeare Code.
On a good day you can pick almost any topic and write something about it that has to do with kink. Well, today is a very good day and today’s topic is roses, I like a challenge. That is right, that beautiful flower. Of course there is the book “Screw me the roses, send me the thorns”, but that would be too easy.

11 Conundrums that beg writing about
Most listicles (don't worry, the word is a millenial folly) limit themselves to a single digit, but the wasteland of my mind is so vast I have no problem coming up with 11 topics to write about. Feel free to borrow but please send me a link.
- It is (more or less) generally accepted that the number of men seeking a dominant female partner is about 20 to 1. What if the number of subs outnumbered the available dommes by the same margin? Would they treat them differently? Promise them more suffering (or less), would phenomena like poly and findom be marginalized or would the whole concept of femdom become marginalized because out of character reality clashes with in-character desires

Two Broke Girls: Fifty Shades Can Land You In Jail
No, I still haven't read the book, or seen the movie (which one is better by the way?) but these gifs from 2 Broke Girls are just too funny to pass up on. And yes lock 'm all up. Who likes Fifty Shades anyway?

Kink, the last bastion to resist social stratification?
Remember the good old days when the attractive male doctor fell madly in love with his female nurse and after surmounting the necessary obstacles, she finally falls into his arms, after which they obviously married and lived happy ever after? Same thing happened to the elderly widower and his house keeper. Well dream on because increasingly that is the stuff of fairy tales.

The Sum of all Fears: Harm Me to Hurt You
The New York Times writes how computers now select targets and launch missiles without human intervention. That's pretty scary, right? How about a sadist who harms herself, to hurt the man she loves. She doesn't want to. My definition of hell.

Sometimes More is More: The Emperor's New Clothes
Slaves are often naked for various reasons. For some it is a part of a ritual while others are ordered to be naked because it makes them feel humiliated. Sometimes it is just practical. Being whipped in your bespoke three-piece suit is a waste of money and the insulation makes it less effective.
Clothes say a great deal about who we are and are used to make snap judgements about people we’ve never met before. The way we dress can also enhance our attractiveness or reduce it. Apparently clothing makes our life so complicated that we need a wiki on how to sleep naked.
Personally I feel comfortable naked, both in and out of character, but recently I noticed something odd. Somehow I feel more naked, exposed is a better word, when I wear a t-shirt and nothing else, rather than being completely undressed. It strikes me as weird and I find it hard to explain.
Perhaps being partially dressed looks less natural than being naked or the missing underwear automatically highlights the part of your body that is normally the last bit to be uncovered.

Wonder Woman was designed to bring the world to matriarchy
After reading Noah Berlatsky's article in The New Republic last week, I wrote about the similarities between Catwoman and Wonder Woman. Catwoman lost her whip and Wonder Woman's magic lasso, which compelled people to obey, got replaced by a sword.
Last December Mr. Berlatsky published a book about the super-heroine: Wonder Woman: Bondage and Feminism in the Marston/Peter Comics, 1941-1948. This week Vice interviewed the author on his recent book:

"William Marston, the psychologist and comic author who created Wonder Woman, believed that the only way to save the world from war was for women to rule the world and for men to become more like women. Marston was, among other things, a noted psychological researcher and an enthusiastic bondage fetishist; he believed comic books were a great form for educational, anti-patriarchy propaganda. Wonder Woman was designed to bring the world to matriarchy through confronting abuse and modeling girl power, genderfucking, bondage play, and erotic mind control."

Kink approved literary quotes
Poking fun of other people's kink is not done. Following up on my post on silly BDSM quotes I decide to do penance with 11 quotes unrelated to BDSM, but decidedly more relevant than the previous batch.
Same thing with dominance. if you have to tell people you are, you ain't. Most dominant people don't even know they are, they are used to get what they want.
