Randy Crawford on the radio. Almaz hits me like a ton of bricks. For some time now I feel lost when it comes to kink. What's the point? Femdom seems broken. That's why the before and after - and often in between matter so much. Yes, it's me baby. Which means you're both lucky and out of luck. But it's always her, which is a good thing.

Singer Randy Crawford wrote Almaz herself. She recorded it in 1986. Crawford's neighbours were a couple of Eritrean refugees. "The man asked Crawford to write a song about his wife, who was named Almaz (which means "diamond" in Tigrinya, Amharic, Arabic and a number of other languages). In the song, the singer reflects on their rare form of love. In Crawford's own words, "I witnessed this perfect love affair between them, although she was considerably younger than him. This beautiful couple with their baby. As refugees they were looking for 'a world where love survives'."
Love has many disguises. Let love rule.

The war in Ukraine is going on for more than two years now with no end in sight. With the upcoming Presidential elections in sight the United States has all but given up on Ukraine. Europe knows but fails to fill the void. Some of Europe's leaders continue to cozy up to Putin. It's so bad in fact that a new word, derived from German, has entered the English language: Putinversteher. Verstehen is a verb that means to understand with empathy. It's rather the opposite of a Putin whisperer. A better translation would be a Putin piggy. The best example is former German prime minister Gerhard Schroder, architect of the Nordstream pipe line, who has been doing Putin's bidding for some time now. Not an elder statesman but former chancellor and traitor.
