The discussion keeps coming up again and again. Why are professional DJ's so expensive? Because they can, some at least. Others don't want to work that often and quote astronomical fees. Especially for Back to the Eighties parties. Yikes! And you know what, it works. Inbox empty. Maybe you think it's absurd DJ's get paid a lot of money but it's their job is to entertain hundreds of people at once.
In the old days [before vinyl was replaced by latex] when you played Friday or Saturday night, you usually worked from nine pm till five am. People were having a great time and it showed. Sales are the bar skyrocketed and the line at the door lasted till we closed. Do that week in, week out and your fee gets higher and higher. That makes some people jealous.

The only thing you do is play records for eight hours a week and make more money in one night than I do the whole week."

I'm a nice guy so I never mentioned the delicous perks like free booze or talking to the girls in the club. No worries, they are all out of my league. I know my place in life. Even those who come in and chat in the DJ booth, but yes. Yes. Never felt the slightest need to defend myself. Was it a hard life? Of course. Someone has to do it and by now everybody knows how Dutch lives to serve. Servitude may or may not include hauling big, heavy crates filled with vinyl records up and down the stairs. Tough job, especially after a few cocktails specially prepared by your friendly lady bartender friend. Wink, wink. But did I ever complain? Of course not and neither did our clubbers. Our guests! More like are you on tomorrow again? There was just one little thing that bothered me night after night. Why are professional dominatrices so expensive?
