It's the leather that gives her away
Librarians in popular culture part 2
Yes it's summer and what is everybody doing? Reading books of course. Next to the swimming pool, at the beach, on the plane, the list goes on and on. But did you know there are fake librarians amongst us, women more interested in disciplining you than advising you on the most enjoyable books to read? That's what the world has come to. But how to spot them? Tough one, agreed.
I once read a book about women coming from Venus and men from Mars. Thorougly confusing, especially if you think back to the Leather Goddesses of Phobos. Phobos is a moon, some 11 kilometers in diameter, yes, really - orbiting Mars. Usually a librarian can help you out. But this lady, I don't know. For some reason her books look a bit odd. As if they have no pages in them. Almost as if they're fake and glued against the wall, apart from a few volume stacked strategically behind the chair.
Most people would argue that librarians don't wear leather. I disagree. In fact, I think it would be better for society if they did. Men would visit libraries in droves. OK maybe they only should be allowed back in after actually reading the books they checked out [And yes, there's a test coming up at the end of this series. Be prepared.]
Still not sure whether shes an actual librarian or not. Against it speaks the fact that the books in the background are clearly fake. On the other hand, wearing a skintight leather outfit to work shows just how commited she is. And the stick in her hand is obviously for pointing out where that book you're looking for, is stacked. She also smiles, librarians are very nice people, so at first glance it looks like she is an actual librarian. Think again. Think leather. No not like that. For once, use your brain!
Public libraries are woefully underfunded, so what is that leather doing there? No the expensive leather chair, you dummy. A real librarian would rather buy books than an upholstered leather chair. So in the end it is the leather that gives her away. And tonight when I fall asleep while reading a book, I'm gonna dream of librarians in tight leather outfits. Such is the power of reading.
