Can Someone Please Cancel Mistress Fox?
Why is there no ad blocker for annoying people?
Kim Kardashian, the woman Julia Fox probably wants to be. |
Not one but two pieces about Julia Fox's upcoming autobiography. One by the actress herself, one by Emma Brockes, published both - and on the same day - in the same paper: The Guardian. Oh, and they also dwell both on the same topic. Julia Fox working briefly as a dominatrix. Her upcoming memoir is titled Down The Drain. When she ran out of ways to steal from her dad or her best friends' dad, Mrs. Fox browses the adult ad section.
“Dominatrix dungeon hiring. *no sex* *no nudity* *no experience necessary*.”
1. Send in a recent full-body picture.
2. Write a quick bio with age, height, weight and level of experience.
3. Describe in detail most sadistic sexual fantasy.
"I don’t have experience as a dominatrix but I certainly have some experience in hating men." Even better, she has the face of an angel. That was in the early 2000's. Born in 1990, that would mean she was underage at the time or perhaps she flunked algebra in secondary school, who cares?
The Guardian newspaper has no paywall, which is the only reason I often refer to it. The above paragraph is an extract of the article Miss Fox has written for The Guardian to promote her upcoming book. Emma Brockes deals with the official review of Down The Drain, which also would be a fitting title for the article she writes. It's like reading how a star-struck six-year old fangirl describes her crush in glowing, if somewhat incoherent terms.
It's hard to tell where reality ends in the life of Julia Fox and fantasy takes over but what is crystal clear to me is that she craves attention above anything else. In order to achieve that she relentlessly promotes herself. She worked in a dungeon for one month, fifteen years ago and I am sure she will bother my great-grandchildren with that long after I am gone. She dated Kanye West for a single month and when it was over, she felt used by him to make his ex Kim Kardashian jealous. If anything, West dating Fox must have been very reassuring for Kardashian, knowing she definitely made the right choice, so who has been using who? As for her acting, for a 33-year old actress, her five-year career looks rather flimsy. Uncut Gems was most likely a one-hit wonder. Sadly, Julia Fox seems to cling to the mistaken believe that she is an uncut gem herself. The article ends with "For all her difficulties, Fox has never had trouble giving herself praise when it’s due. If only Mrs. Brockes had left out those last three words.
I have nothing against Julia Fox and wish her all the best. Just shut up about your 30-day dominatrix 'career'. It's abusive, dishonest and it may feel as if it can earn you some extra cash in the short term, but you'll be paying that back for the rest of your life with an extortionate interest rate. Society at it's most sadistic.
Regi en Maxine - Horen, Zien en Zwijgen
Regi is a famous Belgian producer, think Milk Inc. and Sylver. Maxime is a Dutch singer. Their song Horen, Zien en Zwijgen was a huge hit in Belgium but surprisingly not over here in Holland. Regi also played it at Tommorowland, a huge music festival.

Notes
[1] Julia Fox is not to be confused with Miss Foxx, a British pro-domme.
[2] A while back I wrote how I would like to do interviews with dommes. Obviously you're not eligble Mrs. Fox.
[3] Interviewing Kim Kardashian about her love of latex, now that would be interesting.
[4] By the way Mrs. Fox, rather than sleep with her ex, you should have befriended Kim Kardashian. After all she is the fairy godmother of relentless, succesful selfpromotion. Another career choice down the drain for Mrs. Fox.
