Throughout history rape armies have used rape to strike fear into the hearts of the civilian population. It also serves as a reward for soldiers. Islamic terror group ISIS is no exception. It is hard to believe such practices still continue to this day on such a large scale. The religious zealots of ISIS decided differently. Where the majority of religious people in the world use the religion as a force for good, ISIS does not. The terrorists uses rape as a recruitment tool. Recruits are awarded sex slaves, mainly women captured by ISIS fighters. Not only that, they are also sold to affluent Middle Easterners.
Infidels
Religion plays are large role in how much these women suffer. The worst fate is reserved for Yazidi women, a minority with its own culture and religion, living in Northern Iraq. Initially Christians were spared the worst - being sisters of the same book, but over time ISIS has insatiable appetite for insane cruelty and boundless evil and no woman is safe anymore. If you are to old to be a sex slave: a massgrave awaits you.
This morning I read yet another article on ISIS and sex slaves. Reuters news recently obtained a translation of an ISIS fatwa regarding the "Treatment of the female slave". The terror group believes it is an "inevitable consequence" of the group's conquest of the region:
"Once captured, “women and children of infidels” should be bought, sold and treated according to specific rules, it says. Rape is sanctioned, but prepubescent girls, menstruating women and freed slaves are off-limits. So is raping two sisters, sexually sharing a slave within a family, or with a co-owner."It is one of the most tragic stories of 2015. For strategic reasons - oil - we the West allow this to continue. At the same time we keep beating the drum of human rights, while flaunting our "superior" ethics.
PS As for "Bring home our girls", you might not like the answer Mistress. But not to worry, it's only been 624 days my Omnipotent Goddess. Annother bonbon perhaps Milady? Don't worry they're glutenfree. Oops, we're out. My bad, Your Harshness, I was certain there were 217 left.
Courageous and strong. Female Kurdish fighters. Don't think about what awaits them when they're captured. What Geneva convention? (Image: Al Arabiya) |
