There are many sides to a person. BDSM allows us to unveil part of who we are and the things we enjoy, but have to keep under lock and key, at least some of the time. Our roles and responsibilities, parenting for example, define much of who we are and how we can act.
Mistress Natsukiss in Torture Play 1. Watching it made me realize how much I love to unravel the various layers. |
Above you see Japanese mistress Natsukiss walking down the street in plain clothes. Nothing that makes her stand out from other passers-by. Now imagine her yielding that whip so forcefully, you feel scared and intimidated. Don't worry, that is a good thing, especially once you notice the smile on her face.
The transformation from one part of our identity to another is amazing. Even more interesting is how people are the sum of a number of different personalities, many of which they will never show to anyone. Some are shared with a select few people, one of the things I love about BDSM. As a woman she is kind, intelligent and strong, just to name a few. Once mistress comes out in full force - dominant, sadistic and demanding - you realize this is her too. Realizing both roles are part of who she is, make it more intense and personal. A better experience altogether.
In 2014 The Huffington Post ran a story on photographer Forest McMullin. "He has spent a significant portion of his photography career snapping photos of what he calls "fringe social groups." His series "Day & Night" captures portraits of men and women who live dual lives. During the day, they lead "normal", publicly acceptable lives. At night, however, those men and women are committed advocates of BDSM."
