Can a conventional dress - or colour combination - also be "apropriate" domme outfit?
Throughout this blog I have confessed to several femdom 'sins'. Last year for example, I admitted that I
love toys. Like most slaves I enjoy dommes in '
traditional' outfits. Traditional being leather and latex uniforms. Just remember a like is not a necessity.
It's important to realize that most of femdom is built around symbolism. The way we dress - or don't - is just one example. As I wrote before, I know a lot of women frown upon the idea of the traditional leather-clad domme. Why? To me it's live and let live. Femdom is highly symbolic by definition. Some symbols are more obvious than others. Just think about the honorific 'mistress'.
I assume a lot of people combine an interest in femdom with one or more fetishes. Something that usually goes unnoticed because they are part and parcel of the femdom routine. Other fetishes are more difficult to decipher. I was surprised when I found out that girls wearing glasses is a fetish for some people. Then there are those elements - women in leather pants for instance - that transcend beyond the usual femdom suspects. Most vanilla men love women in leather pants. (Except the Parisians perhaps, where it was
illegal for women to wear pants until 2013.)
But just like there are lots of words and symbols people associate with femdom, there also are many outfits. What to think of innocent-looking polka dot dresses? Imagine mistress in her
polka dot dress administering a bare-hand spanking in the kitchen. The dress is highly functional, it serves to underline the casual element - real life TPE so you will - of a couple's mistress-slave relationship. There are quite a few other not so obvious archetypes.
One that I find impossible to ignore is the 'classic' black and white outfit. Why? I don't know. What I do know is that it is more common than you think in femdom imagery. What do people see in it? Perhaps it reminds them of their high school teacher, a governess or maybe a nanny of sorts?
